Ruben Faria

Dakar13_Ruben_Faria_Final_KTM_1Rubin Faria of Portugal is a regular member of the KTM Factory Team and formerly rode as support rider for Red Bull KTM’s Cyril Despres.

Faria exited the 2014 Dakar in the third stage but he does have a solid record in the event.

Thanks to consistent strong riding he finished second overall in 2013 and was awarded the victory in the final stage to pick up his best ever result. He was twelfth in 2012, eighth in 2011 and eleventh in 2010. Faria also has four Dakar stage victories to his credit.

Born in 1974 in Olhão, Portugal, Ruben first raced in the Portuguese Championship in Piscainho in 1982.

He first rode a KTM machine, a KTM LC4 620 in 1995 and is passionate about racing the mighty Dakar.
