Eulalia Sanz, Laia, is a super-champion after winning virtually every speciality in which she has ever competed in.
From the age of 4 she began riding her elder brother’s Montesa Cota 25cc. She went on to become a Trial legend, winning everything in the female category. Hardly any other rider can claim to have won 13 world titles, 10 European titles, and 6 wins in national team competitions (Trial des Nations), as well as numerous other national and international awards.
The ‘Superwoman’ image began to take shape when, not satisfied with the successes achieved in Trial, she broadened her scope to include other challenges, such as Enduro or the Dakar rally. In Enduro, she has recently been awarded a third world title, while in the Dakar rally, she finished as best female on her four appearances.
However, in the two most recent seasons, Laia has begun to sneak into the top male riders specialty, the highlight of which was an eighth place finish in one of the toughest stages of the Dakar. Her strength is her great ability at navigating, and she continues to break all kinds of stereotypes, finishing among the top males of the rally.
